Position Overview:
Good Fruit Electric is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Utility Technician to join our team. This role primarily involves the disassembly, cleaning, and preparation of electric motor parts for repair and reassembly. The Utility Technician will also assist in overall shop operations, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Motor Disassembly and Preparation:
- Disassemble electric motors, components, and parts according to shop standards.
- Clean parts using steam cleaners, air tools, and other necessary equipment.
- Prepare motors and parts for repair and reassembly, ensuring all components meet quality standards.
- Shop Support:
- Assist with general shop duties, including maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Support other shop personnel in motor repair and reassembly as needed.
- Help with material handling, receiving, and stocking inventory.
- Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate a forklift to transport motors and parts within the shop.
- Utilize air tools and steam cleaners effectively and according to safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or shop environment is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with air tools, steam cleaners, and other shop equipment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Work Environment:
This position requires standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in a noisy, sometimes dirty environment. Safety equipment and training will be provided.
Schedule:
Full-time. Overtime may be required based on workload.
