Job Overview:

As the Director of Operations at Good Fruit Electric, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of our electric motor repair shop. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the repair process, from receiving motors to final quality control, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of electric motor repair processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Management:

  •     Ensure adherence to OSHA safety guidelines.
        Conduct monthly safety training and collect documentation.

  •     POC for safety incidents. 
    Shop Operations Oversight to Meet Productivity Goals:

    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of technicians, mechanics, and support staff in the electric motor repair shop.
    • Ensure adherence to repair procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
    • Implement and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
  • Resource Management:

    • Manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for electric motor repairs.
    • Coordinate with project management to ensure timely availability of required materials.
    • Optimize resource allocation for maximum productivity.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures throughout the repair process.
    • Collaborate with the team to continuously improve repair methodologies.
    • Investigate and resolve any quality issues that may arise during the repair process.
  • Performance Monitoring:

    • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve shop performance.
    • Regularly analyze performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry management experience or bachelor's degree in business, construction or project management.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in an electric motor repair or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electric motor repair processes and industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
